These trays are made of a durable plastic that can withstand heat mats.
The bottom trays are smooth and thus will not puncture the mat.
The insert fits in the bottom tray with space to wiggle a little and allow air to reach the bottom root area.
The dome sits on top and will seal in moisture and create the humidity needed to keep the starting mix moist.
The bottom trays can also be used to water the insets from underneath so you don't dislodge the seeds.
